The 2022 Scholarship Winners are:

KATE BACHMAN–  A Senior at Glenbard West in Glen Ellyn, Kate Bachman is the daughter of Gregory Bachman. Mr. Bahman is employed by Shure Incorporated in Niles, which is an active Chamber member.  Kate was on the speech team all four years at Glenbard West. Music is also a big part of her life and is very important to her. She has played the trumpet and piano for many years.   Kate loves to read and sew.  Kate will be attending the University of Virginia where she plans on studying Environmental Science and Public Policy.  She hopes to attend law school and pursue Environmental Law as a career. She is thankful to have received this scholarship, as it will help her study as an out-an-state student at a university that is both close to the nation’s capital and well-know in her area of study.

Stanislaw Swiatek-is a Niles village resident and Senior at Notre Dame High School for Boys. Stanislaw attended Saint John Brebeuf before high school. He also attended Polish School there every Saturday until he graduated there at the end of his sophomore year in high school. While at Notre Dame, he has done many things that not only made his high school experience unique, but also brought him closer to his school community. Some of the most important activities he was involved in included tennis for all four years in which, he received 2nd place in a sectional’s tournament, Spanish club for three years and Vice President for 1 year, he has been a part of the scholastic bowl team for three years, a member of the leadership council and science club for two years. Also, in school, he participated in various sporting leagues we have all year round, such as basketball, volleyball, or softball. At ND, he has been recognized at the Don of the Month for December which is an award given to a senior that fit the months category, which for Stanislaw it was academics. Also, he has had the highest honors at ND in terms of academics for multiple semesters. He is interested in political science because he loves to learn about how the world works along with the world history with policy making and how that affects life.  I will be attending Northern Illinois University for Political Science and possibly Spanish too. Receiving this scholarship allows me to continue my academic career with less financial worry after college, something that I am very grateful for.
